Master Bedroom & Dressing Room Design

Some master bedrooms are built to impress. This one is built to quiet the mind. Domora designed the suite as a single calm sequence, from a softly lit sleeping area to a private dressing room, using one restrained palette of taupe, blush, and warm stone that carries through every surface.

A Palette Built Around Warmth

The room is wrapped in muted taupe and soft blush tones, with polished travertine-look flooring in pale beige and grey. Because the colour range is kept narrow, texture does the work instead: fine vertical grooves on the wall panels, a ribbed headboard, a tufted bench, and a striped rug with a stepped edge. The result is a bedroom that feels layered and tactile without ever feeling busy.

A Headboard Wall That Glows Instead of Shouts

Behind the bed, wide wall panels are divided by slim vertical shadow lines and capped with a concealed LED cove. The light washes down the wall rather than pointing at it, giving the room a soft evening glow that suits a space meant for rest. The upholstered headboard, with its vertical channelling and thin bronze edge, sits low against the panelling and lets the wall remain the backdrop.

Lighting Used as Sculpture

Two slim vertical pendants with copper-toned frames hang either side of the bed, replacing bedside lamps and keeping the nightstands clear. Overhead, fine linear slots in the ceiling add a graphic line without hanging a single fixture in the room. Together they create three layers of light: the cove glow, the pendants, and the ceiling lines, each adjustable to the time of day.

Layered Window Dressing

Floor-to-ceiling taupe curtains sit over a sheer layer, so the room can move from filtered daylight to full privacy and low light. With the curtains running the full height of the window wall, the ceiling appears higher and the room feels more generous.

Furniture That Works at the Foot of the Bed

A long tufted bench with a slim black base and brass-toned feet anchors the foot of the bed and gives the room a place to sit, dress, or drop a throw. The nightstands match the bed in a pale, stitched finish with a recessed handle, so the storage reads as part of the furniture, not an addition to it.

A Media Wall That Stays in Its Place

Opposite the bed, a wall-mounted television sits above a floating console and a slim open shelf, framed by panelling in a lighter wood tone and a narrow mirrored strip that bounces light across the room. The television is integrated into the wall composition, so the room reads as a bedroom first and an entertainment space second.

A Dressing Room That Feels Like a Boutique

Beyond the bedroom, the dressing room continues the same material language in a darker, more intimate tone. Glass-fronted wardrobes in bronze frames display shoes and garments, tall slim handles run the full height of the doors, and integrated lighting makes everything easy to see. A floating vanity desk and a single chair at the far end give the dressing room a natural focal point.

One Suite, Delivered as One Design

A master suite only works when the transitions are seamless. Domora's team coordinated the flooring continuity, concealed doors, wardrobe joinery, and lighting circuits so that the sleeping area, media wall, and dressing room read as one connected space. As with every Domora project, design, engineering, and execution were managed as a single process.

A Master Bedroom Designed for Calm

This project shows how a soft palette, layered lighting, and carefully chosen materials can turn a large bedroom into a private retreat. For homeowners across Dubai and the UAE planning a master bedroom or dressing room, it reflects Domora's ability to design spaces that feel both refined and easy to live in.
