Luxury Family Living Room Design

A family living room has to be generous enough for guests and comfortable enough for an ordinary evening. This one is designed around warmth: honey-toned oak, fluted panels, veined marble with gold, and a sculptural chandelier that gives the room its personality. Everything sits within a calm cream palette, so the materials do the talking.

A Chandelier as the Room's Centrepiece

A large chandelier of branching gold stems and clear glass droplets hangs at the centre of a stepped ceiling, framed by a white cornice and a warm LED cove. Its irregular, organic shape contrasts with the straight lines of the ceiling and gives the room a focal point from every angle. Slim black ceiling tracks and recessed spotlights provide practical light, so the chandelier can act as decoration while the room stays well lit.

Oak and Fluted Panelling for Warmth

Walls are wrapped in honey-toned oak veneer, alternating with fluted panels that carry a hidden LED line along their edges. The vertical ribbing catches the light and adds depth, while the oak keeps the room feeling natural and welcoming. Together they replace paint with texture, which makes the walls feel finished without any need for heavy decoration.

A Bookmatched Marble Feature Wall

On the window side, a large panel of white marble with gold and grey veining is framed in oak and backlit with a soft glow. The veins run diagonally across the slab, giving the wall a painterly, almost artwork-like quality. The gold in the stone echoes the chandelier and the wall lights, which ties the materials together.

A Media Wall That Combines Fire, Screen, and Storage

Opposite the seating, the television sits within a frame of soft grey panels, with a lit shelf niche on one side and a floating console below. A long linear fireplace sits beneath the screen, set against a strip of backlit marble that matches the feature wall. A band of marble above the television is lit from behind, and the whole composition floats off the floor on a warm LED line. The fire, screen, and storage read as one clean wall, not separate pieces of furniture.

Seating for the Whole Family

A deep, U-shaped sectional in cream velvet fills the room, with a chaise end on one side and a corner armchair on the other. Cushions in taupe and soft grey and a chevron throw add texture without changing the palette. Two low coffee tables in veined marble with dark bases sit in the middle, and a large natural-fibre rug anchors the seating group. The seating is generous enough for a large family and still leaves a clear path through the room.

Art, Sculpture, and Wall Lights

An abstract painting in cream, gold, and charcoal hangs in a thin gold frame against the fluted wall. Brass wall lights with frosted glass flank the arch and the painting, adding warm accents at eye level. A slim dark sculpture of a figure reading, set against the fluting beside the media wall, adds a human note and a touch of contrast.

A Living Room That Feels Warm and Considered

This project shows how a family living room can feel luxurious without feeling formal when the materials are warm, the lighting is layered, and the layout is generous. For homeowners across Dubai and the UAE planning a living room with a feature wall, fireplace, or statement lighting, it reflects Domora's ability to combine rich materials with comfortable, livable design.

Arches That Frame the Way Through

A pair of nested arches in oak and plaster opens onto the hallway, with a warm light glowing beyond. The curves soften the room's straight lines and give the entrance a sense of procession. Tall plants in ribbed planters stand on either side of the arch, adding a fresh green note to the neutral scheme.

Curtains and Floors

Floor-to-ceiling curtains in layered taupe fabric and sheers frame the windows and soften the daylight. Polished white marble with grey veining runs through the room and out into the hall, keeping the space bright and reflecting the chandelier.

Planning Behind the Finish

A room with this many materials depends on tight coordination. The design planned the ceiling steps, the lighting circuits, the oak and fluted panel layout, the marble cutting, the fireplace, the arch joinery, and the curtain tracks together so that every line meets cleanly. As with every Domora project, design, engineering, and execution are treated as one connected process.
