Contemporary Bedroom Design with Built-In Wardrobes

Some bedrooms rely on one dramatic feature. This one relies on balance: pale grey fluted panels, warm oak, and touches of cognac, all brought together by lighting that is built into the walls and ceiling.

A Headboard Wall Built From Texture

Behind the bed, narrow vertical flutes in soft grey run across the wall, divided by slim lines of light that mark each section. A lower solid panel frames the headboard and gives it a clear base, while a warm LED strip along its top edge washes the fluting with a gentle glow. Because the wall is pale and finely ribbed, it adds depth without adding colour, which keeps the room calm.

Oak Panels That Add Warmth

To the left of the headboard, three tall oak veneer panels are separated by vertical light slits. The wood grain brings a natural, grounded note against the cool grey, and the light between the panels gives the wall a layered, gallery-like look. The same oak appears in the flush door and the shelf details elsewhere in the room, so the material feels like a thread running through the design, not a one-off accent.

A Low, Soft Bed With Quiet Details

The platform bed is upholstered in a soft greige fabric with a rounded headboard and small tan leather squares as an understated detail. Layered bedding in stripes, houndstooth, and cognac velvet adds pattern in a controlled way. Beside it, a white nightstand with a cognac top and round brass pulls keeps the bedside clear and practical.

A Ceiling Frame With Warm Light

A recessed ceiling panel outlined in warm cove lighting sits above the bed, with a black linear track running along its edge. The ceiling defines the sleeping zone, and the black line adds a precise, modern contrast to the white surfaces. The warm light and the sharp track also make the ceiling feel layered without any heavy decoration.

Wardrobes and Media Wall in One Composition

Opposite the bed, tall wardrobes with flat white doors and long, slim black handles flank a central media niche. Above the television, a fluted cabinet echoes the headboard wall, and below it a floating oak-topped unit with three drawers adds more storage. Integrating the television into the joinery means the wall reads as one clean element, with the storage hidden behind simple doors.

A Dressing Corner Within Easy Reach

Next to the bed, a compact dressing table with drawers, a rust-coloured round stool with a brass band, and tall open shelves with soft lighting create a small getting-ready area. The shelves hold books and decorative pieces, which adds personality while keeping the surfaces tidy.

Soft Seating and a Calm Floor

Curved lounge chairs in a blush-beige fabric sit by the bed, with a small dark side table beside them for a book or a coffee. A large rug in grey tones adds softness over the light oak flooring, and sheer curtains bring in daylight without glare. The rounded chairs offset the straight lines of the joinery and make the room feel more inviting.

Planning the Details

A room with this much built-in detail relies on careful coordination. The design planned the fluted panels, oak veneer, wardrobes, lighting slots, ceiling frame, and air-conditioning position together, so the lines align and the technical elements stay discreet. As with every Domora project, design, engineering, and execution are treated as one connected process.

A Bedroom That Feels Calm and Considered

This project shows how a restrained palette of grey, oak, and cognac can create a bedroom that is warm, tidy, and quietly luxurious. For homeowners across Dubai and the UAE planning a master bedroom with built-in storage, it reflects Domora's ability to combine clean design with practical, well-planned joinery.
